Adamah Farm After School Program
We had a blast with the Fall 2025 group of kids who joined us for our after school program on the farm! Learn more about what we did below and stay tuned as we hope to run the program again in 2026.
The Program
These will be hands-on sessions, each focusing on a different aspect of the farm.
9/11- Vegetables, Composting, Soil:
We will taste some fresh veggies and we will get our hands dirty learning tricks for how to grow healthy plants in healthy soil
9/18- Animals on the Farm:
We will meet our goats and chickens and learn how to take good care of them
9/25- Flowers and Seeds:
We will make beautiful flower bouquets to take home from the farm and we will gather seeds from around the fields that can grow into beautiful crops next year
We are grateful to the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation for helping us to establish this program.
What is Adamah?
The Adamah Farm is a production farm growing fresh food regeneratively for our local northwest corner community. We also offer educational farm programming, most of which is geared toward guests of the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center. This fall, we are excited to offer this new three-session public program for local kids to get a 'taste' of what it takes to grow food here in our area! While Adamah is located across the street from the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center, there will be no Jewish or religious content to this after school program. Just a chance for our experienced farm educators to share what's special about compost, chickens, fresh tomatoes, and healthy soil.
Program Details
We will gather rain or shine, so come prepared with the right gear to be comfortable outside. If the forecast calls for thunderstorms, we will cancel the program for that day and we will offer a replacement session on Monday September 29th.
Lee H Kellogg students can take the bus from school directly to the farm and we will meet them at our farm gate where the bus stops at 3:30. Please send a snack with your child, and we will supervise a snack time in the shade on the farm from 3:30 until the program fully starts at 3:45.
If you will drop your child off at the farm yourself, please bring them to 210 Beebe Hill Rd in Falls Village at 3:45. We will meet you there. Please give your child a snack before drop off so that we can get started at 3:45, or have them join the students who arrived from the Kellogg bus for a snack at 3:30.
Everyone should bring a water bottle.
We do have restrooms available but they are a short walk from the farm. If kids can arrive having recently used the bathroom, the timing of the program will work especially smoothly:)
Payment
We are able to offer this program on a sliding scale. Please register at the payment amount that works for your budget, including the option of paying no fee at all. Everyone is welcome! If you are in a position to support the program financially, please consider a payment of $30, $60, or $120 per child enrolled, depending on what your budget allows.
