The cost of producing CSA shares is $830 for a weekly share and $415 for an EOW (every other week) share. *In order to accommodate all community members, we offer payment options on a sliding scale*
$830 for weekly, $415 for EOW If your financial situation allows, please pay the full cost of your share of the weekly harvest.
more than $830 for weekly, $415 for EOW Paying in at a higher rate helps us subsidize shares for those who need to pay in at the lower end of the scale. If your financial situation allows, please pay in at a higher rate.
less than $830 for weekly, $415 for EOW If paying full price for a share is not feasible for your budget, please still join the CSA! We'd love to have you and we trust you to pay as close to the full price as works for your budget.
We know that sliding scales can be confusing and require a little more thought than most shopping experiences do. We use this pricing model because our goal is to make sure no one in our community chooses not to join the CSA due to cost. Everyone in our community has a different and complex financial situation. Please do your best to ignore any embarrassment that pops up for you around wealth, no matter where you fall on the scale, and reflect thoughtfully when deciding what to pay.
If you would like to pay in installments rather than the full sum before the beginning of the season, please email Janna at [email protected]

Some Reflections on Pricing:
We know that the price of a CSA share can seem intimidating. This is often because we are used to thinking about our food bills on a weekly basis rather than seeing the cost of a six month season in one price.
The CSA ends up being an extremely high value compared to purchasing similar quantities of organic produce elsewhere. And, of course, our produce is of unparalleled freshness as we harvest it specially for you right before pickup. Each week's share value adds up to being worth more than the weekly cost were we to sell it as individual items at a farmer's market.
The up-front nature of CSA payments is what allows us to offer this significant value. It is like CSA members offer an operating loan to the farmers and we, in turn, pay you back in the form of vegetable interest.
As consumers, we are also used to the deceivingly low price of industrial food which do not account for its' true cost. In the past, people spent a much higher percentage of their monthly income on food than we do in America today, and that is still the case in most other countries. De-prioritizing good food in our personal budgets has had devastating consequences that are expensive to address including chronic diet related health problems, the food insecurity that results from disappearing local farm economies, loss of soil and bio-diversity, pollution, climate change, and the mistreatment of the farm workers who grow our very sustenance.
By purchasing a CSA share you invest in your health and the health of our community without the expensive cleanup costs that result from de-valuing food.
All of this said, some of us do struggle to afford the true cost of food due to economic factors beyond our control. That's where the sliding scale model comes in! Please do reflect on your financial situation and pay whatever works for your budget.
